Role responsibilities
The IT and DS Infrastructure Operations Manager is a key operational role which is responsible for the digital infrastructure that supports critical transport operations.
- Deliver and support on-premises infrastructure by managing VMware/vSphere platforms, physical hardware, databases, and backups, through proactive maintenance and disaster recovery planning, to ensure a stable, resilient, and efficient virtual environment.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services by monitoring performance, resolving issues, and maintaining operational procedures and mail systems, to ensure reliable access to collaboration and productivity tools across the organization.
- Manage Azure IaaS platforms by configuring network, storage, and compute resources, and collaborating with development teams on infrastructure-as-code, to provide scalable, cost-effective, and integrated cloud services.
- Support critical network infrastructure by overseeing WAN, switching, and wireless services, and conducting performance and capacity planning, to maintain continuous and reliable connectivity across all sites.
Who we’re looking for
- Experience of supporting critical environments and Enterprises using: Windows Servers (Servers 2022, 2019 and 2016) running on Hypervisors VMWare/vSphere.Azure Infrastructure ServicesBackup and Replication services (Veeam)On premise Active Directory, Directory Services and Entra IDOffice 365 enterprise administration including systems maintenance with PowerShell scripting.
- Experience of configuring Office 365 service suite at an Enterprise level to ensure email flows, user security, audit compliance and license optimisation and compliance.
- Experience of designing and implementing best practices for IT infrastructure management processes and procedures including security by design, and system resilience and availability.
- Experience of designing IT infrastructure solutions that are highly secure, are resilient and perform in line with customer requirements and strategic policies.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
