Senior Mechanical Engineer – Mission CriticalHDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to collaborate with various engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, specifications, and installation designs of complete mechanical systems and HVAC solutions for Data Centres.About the Role About You We are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail and is conversant with all aspects of mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will be a competent and experienced designer, self-starter, and team player who can manage and develop resources to meet project demands while maintaining the highest level of technical excellence and regulatory compliance.Responsibilities Carry out engineering concept design through to detailed design.Ensure all design projects and reports within the group are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.Motivate yourself and manage staff within the group to build coherent high-performing teams.Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects.Implement Company Health and Safety and ensure all designs respond to the CDM regulations.Ensure Quality Management System ISO 9001 and 14001 are adhered to.Required Qualifications Bachelor\’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or relevant subjectMinimum 5 years of mechanical design experience within a design consultancyExperience managing mechanical design throughout all design stagesWide experience of critical mechanical systems, HVAC engineering, and multiple levels of resilienceStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, and AutoCADDemonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination, and project management experiencePrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmHDR is committed to the principles of employment equity and is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
