Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we\’re looking to add an Electrical Design Engineer located in Kendal / Blackburn.
Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, the Electrical Design Engineer role will be part of an excellent engineer team, whose members are strong communicators, ambitious & innovative. You will work across multiple disciplines to get a full overview of the life cycle of the product along with the technical acumen required for the role. You will also liaise with Project Managers and the Electrical Design Manager, supporting on the development of the library of standard drawings.
What a typical day looks like:
- Creating Electrical designs of switchboards & associated products ready for production / fabrication purposes;
- Ensuring drawings issued to the shop floor are controlled, accurate and easy to follow;
- Aiding Production/Test to resolve problems with new & existing product designs;
- Assisting with Shop Floor operations, Site operations and Client witness Testing as required;
- Proactive risk identification, mitigation and resolution; opportunity & issues identification throughout the project lifecycle;
- Participate in all aspects of \”team\” development and goal achievement \”Engineering Excellence\” and help drive continuous improvement activities within Engineering & Production.
The experience we\’re looking to add to our team:
- Demonstrated experience in the electrical engineering sector, either within production or design;
- Knowledge of Switchgear is advantageous;
- Experience of 2D Design using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical is beneficial;
- Strong skills in both written and verbal communication;
- Creative, enthusiastic with a pro–active attitude and a keen eye for detail;
- Confident under pressure and able to handle multifaceted objectives.
