English Teacher – Mainstream Secondary School (Cheshire) Long-Term Supply | Minimum 1 Term | Start: After February Half Term Pay: Β£150 – Β£200 per day (depending on experience) We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Cheshire for a minimum of one term, starting after February half term. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive department with clear behaviour expectations and strong leadership. This role would suit a confident classroom practitioner who is passionate about delivering engaging English lessons and supporting students to achieve their full potential. The Role: * Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience advantageous but not essential). * Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum. * Maintain positive behaviour management and high classroom standards. * Marking, assessment and feedback in line with school policies. * Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues and pastoral teams. The Ideal Candidate: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / PGCE or equivalent). * Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language. * Experience teaching in UK secondary education. * Confident behaviour management and strong classroom presence. * Reliable, professional and adaptable. * ECTs and experienced teachers welcome to apply. * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply). Roles are flexible, we have full time and part time roles available. Successful candidates should hold QTS, PGCE with a relevant Bachelor\’s Degree, a Bachelor of Education or the international equivalent. As members of the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) and Umbrella body to the DBS, (Disclosure & Barring Service) Excell Supply is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children. All applicants will be subject to thorough employment checks and must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service certificate in place. Candidates without an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service will have to apply for a new one.
