Position Purpose
The Production Manager will oversee manufacturing operations at our Knightsbridge site. This role involves planning and coordinating production schedules to meet quality and efficiency standards, managing a team of supervisors and operators, and ensuring smooth production flow by collaborating with other departments e.g. Food Technical and Health and Safety. The Production Manager will implement quality control measures, maintain health and safety regulations, and analyse production data to optimize performance.
Candidates will be required to have proven experience in manufacturing leadership roles, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in production management software. Effective communication and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are essential.
Principal Accountabilities
1 Health & Safety – To pro-actively manage to ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees in the operation and that as a minimum the operation meets the standards set out in the Group Health & Safety policy.
2 Quality Standards – To lead and drive standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping within your area through Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.) to ensure that both Business and customer standards are kept and audit requirements are fully met.
3 Performance Management – To appropriately manage the performance of all teams members including section managers through the use of performance managements systems (i.e. appraisal) and, if necessary, to impose disciplinary sanctions in accordance with Company policy through to dismissal stage.
4 Training & Development – To own the training & development of all levels of team including managers. Actively coach, develop, recruit and train team members to the required level of competence to encourage continuous improvement within the business.
5 NPD Process manages the NPD process within their area of responsibility to ensure that all trials run successfully and through to product launch
6 Performance Improvement through use of KPIs Challenges and introduces new KPIs to drive performance. Ensures Team delivers agreed KPIs across the operation Ensuring systems are in place to collect the necessary data to measure performance against the agreed KPIs. Develops and implements PIPs and identifies areas for improvement.
7 Resource Management – Plan, organise and measure labour and material requirements within their area to ensure that both short- and long- term agreed targets are met.
8 Communication Manages the communication process in their area to ensure that the workforce in their area is well informed on relevant business news and to encourage effective cross-functional links and that channels of communication are clear and available.
9 Recruitment – Involvement in the selection process for direct reports and all staff within their area to ensure that the necessary skills are in place at all levels. Responsible for the supervision and coaching of Section Managers.
10 Employee Relations To appropriately manage the performance of all team members including section managers through the use of performance managements systems (i.e. appraisal) and, if necessary, to impose disciplinary sanctions in accordance with Company policy through to dismissal stage.
