The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join our model design team. Working alongside our Aerodynamicists and Surfacers and collaborating as part of a small team, your role will include designing components for our state-of-the-art wind-tunnel model and helping to improve the quality, efficiency and accuracy of designs. As a valued member of our Aerodynamics Department, your ideas and skills will make a tangible contribution to the Team.

Please note – we will consider applications at both Engineer and Senior Engineer level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing 60% scale model components, delivering on-time and to a high standard.

  • Planning and releasing parts for manufacture.

  • Providing design support for the preparation and testing of the model components.

  • Helping to develop our working methodologies and capabilities.

Candidate Profile:

You are passionate about design and have a determination to deliver at the highest level, applying your skills and understanding to practical engineering challenges.

Essential skills and experiences:

  • Recent design experience in F1, other top-level motorsport or in a fast-paced setting.

  • An innovative approach to solving engineering problems.

  • Experience using high-level CAD software (preferably CATIA V5 or 3DX).

  • A solid understanding of material selection for design

  • Good IT skills.

  • Degree-educated in a relevant discipline, such as Engineering or Product Design.

Desirable skills and experiences:

  • Experience of creating Aerodynamic Surface schemes.

  • Familiarity with VBA, python or C# to deliver macros/automation.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of GD&T and its application.
