About The Role

IT Applications Developer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Applications Developer based in Worcester to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that support our business operations.
Reporting to the IT Development Manager you will work pragmatically and collaboratively with the wider, geographically disparate, IT team. This team are responsible for delivering an excellent user experience, which reflects our position as a provider of high-quality legal services and underpins all our employees’ ability to deliver excellent service to their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

•Design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications and integrations using modern programming languages and frameworks.
•Modify and enhance existing applications to improve performance, usability, and functionality.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements and provide technical recommendations.
•Ensure code quality through best practices, including unit testing, documentation, and code reviews.
•Maintain application security, scalability, and performance standards.
•Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
•Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
•Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including Agile and DevOps practices.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

•Experience of developing technology for users across a multi-site, geographically technical landscape
•Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, stakeholders and third-party suppliers
•An understanding of software development and a strong aptitude for problem solving
•Willingness to learn
•A logical approach to troubleshooting
•A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
•Excellent organisational and time management skills
•Experience of working on large IT projects and implementing new software
•Experience of reviewing processes and creating new workflows
•Ability to work well within a team environment and to be able to self-motivate
•Fundamental understanding of SQL and/or Power BI
•Languages: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL
•Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services integration.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
•Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
•Experience with Microsoft technologies, including low-code/no-code platforms such as Power Apps, Power Automate, and the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem, is highly desirable.
•Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
•Exposure to enterprise resource planning (ERP) or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
•Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in application development.
