A well-established organisation based in Harlow is seeking a Housing Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative and customer service skills to contribute to a busy housing team.
The Role The Housing Assistant will support all aspects of tenancy and housing management, acting as the first point of contact for customer enquiries. Youll play a key role in delivering efficient administrative support, responding to tenant queries, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the team.
Key Responsibilities

  • Responding to housing-related enquiries, including rent, tenancy issues, transfers, and participation
  • Providing accurate advice, signposting, and referrals to appropriate services
  • Preparing routine correspondence and supporting casework as directed by the Team Leader
  • Diary management and meeting coordination for senior staff
  • Minute taking and distribution
  • Booking meeting rooms and organising logistics
  • Supporting the arrangement of temporary accommodation
  • Monitoring shared inboxes and ensuring timely responses
  • Processing invoices and maintaining accurate records

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in housing, customer service, or public sector administration is desirable
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general administrative systems
  • Must be able to work on-site in Harlow five days a week
