Role profile
Osborne Clarke are seeking an experienced IT Asset Manager, specialising in Hardware assets, to join our growing IT department in our Bristol office.
This position will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the lifecycle of all IT hardware assets within the organisation, ensuring accurate records, optimised usage, and cost-effective procurement and disposal.
This is a permanent position offering hybrid working
The role
The IT Asset Manager will be a key member of the IT Excellence Team, promoting collaboration, team working, and innovation. This role will involve maintaining an accurate inventory of all IT hardware assets, collaborating with the central Procurement team on the acquisition process for new hardware, and coordinating the deployment and installation of new hardware assets.
Other Key Responsibilities Include
Asset Management: Monitor and manage the lifecycle of hardware assets, including maintenance, upgrades, and disposal. Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware assets, ensuring up-to-date records and effective tracking, and conducting regular audits of stock at each UK site to ensure compliance and accuracy. Provide regular reports on asset status, utilisation, and costs.
Procurement and Deployment: Collaborate with the central Procurement team on the acquisition process for new hardware, including raising Purchase Orders and approving invoices. Coordinate the deployment and installation of new hardware assets, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to operations.
Policy Development: Develop and implement hardware asset management policies and procedures to optimise asset utilisation and cost-effectiveness.
Financial Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate with the Finance Team to manage asset-related budgets and forecasts. Provide regular reports on asset status, utilisation, and costs to internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
Compliance and Security: Identify and report compliance risks. Ensure all hardware assets are secure and comply with Information Security policies. Opportunity to act as Asset Management Practice Owner within the ITIL framework.
Team Support: Deputise for the IT Software Asset Manager in the event of any absence, including procurement, deployment coordination, lifecycle management, licence management, reporting, and compliance.
We are looking for
- Proven experience in IT asset management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware, including PCs, laptops, servers, and networking equipment.
- Understanding of software licensing models, including enterprise agreements and compliance.
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good understanding of IT hardware and its interaction with software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using asset management software and tools.
- Awareness of Information Security best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Prior experience with ServiceNow and knowledge of ITIL framework are desirable.
