We have an exciting opportunity for an EC&I HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER who can be based at our clients premises in either Warrington or West Cumbria. About the Role: Producing engineering design work packages, specifications, drawings, analyses and verifications or assessments of engineering that satisfy legal and functional requirements along with the associated performance conditions to the agreed time, cost and quality. The technical generation and review of engineering design drawings, mainly in relation to control system cubicles, enclosures, and interface panels. Ascertaining constraints and design impacts from site visits, collaboration with the engineering teams and stakeholders, and the oversight of manufacturing and assembly of such designs to a high-quality level. Provision of associated information such as Power Load and Heat Calculations, electrical instrumentation/interface drawings, I/O Schedules, Hardware Test Specifications, Inspection & Defect Reports, Purchase Order & Material Traceability, Lifetime Quality Records. Essential experience: Significant experience in the use of AutoCAD. Significant demonstrable experience in EC&I Project Delivery. Experience of the design & delivery of Electrical Enclosures, Control System Panels, Motor Control Centres, etc. Competent in the application of CDM Regulations. Competent in the application of IET Wiring Regulations. Experience of space management, panel layouts, cable routing, cable management & cable calculations, and load & heat calculations. Ability to work as part of an Integrated Delivery Team, and individually, working within sometimes restrictive time constraints. Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people at all levels. Essential qualifications: HNC or evidence of substantial experience with a high emphasis on EC&I engineering. Desirable experience: Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA Control Systems. Experience delivering against BS 61508 &/or BS 13489 Experience in delivering in accordance with Sellafield Ltd Management System.
