As Sales Manager, the individual will be responsible for expanding advertising investment from agencies, clients, and Disney brand partners by leveraging deep expertise in multi-platform media solutions including TV, digital, social, and print.
The role is responsible for leading discussions around NatGeo brand partnership sales across UK agencies and international markets, managing relationships with media partners and overseeing all aspects of partnership campaigns—from pitch and client management through to execution. Close collaboration with internal teams across Creative, Operations, Editorial, Finance, and Accounting, as well as coordination with international colleagues and independent representatives, is essential to achieving revenue objectives.
The Sales Manager for National Geographic will be responsible for driving pan-regional advertising and
content partnership revenue across a full suite of platforms, including Digital, Social, Print, TV, and
Streaming. This role is focused on new business development, client relationship management, and
delivering effective, high-quality campaigns across multiple markets.
This is an office-based role. 4 days working in the Hammersmith, London office with 1 day working from home.
The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
- Drive advertising revenue growth for National Geographic Media, including Disney+ and HULU (if relevant based on partnerships) across all platforms, including standard media buys and bespoke content partnerships
- Own revenue generation for AV, digital, and social channels through engagement with both internal stakeholders and external partners of TWDC
- Manage sales activity within an assigned category to maximise commercial opportunities and drive consistent revenue
- Provide accurate revenue forecasting and reporting to the Director in a timely and strategic manner
- Develop and present compelling pitches to senior-level agency contacts to secure new business partnerships
- Monitor and analyze market trends to inform and adapt sales strategy effectively
- Collaborate with all lines of business to surface new clients and align commercial opportunities with strategic brand objectives
- Partner closely with internal cross-functional teams—including CreativeWorks, Digital Client Services, Editorial, Programming, Revenue Management, Research, and Trade Marketing—to execute high-quality, results-driven campaigns and foster long-term client relationships.
- Generate advertising and custom content revenue across all platforms through proactive sales initiatives and bespoke partnership solutions
- Lead on business development and pipeline management, identifying and converting new briefs and RFPs aligned with annual revenue targets.
- Represent National Geographic and Disney Advertising in client meetings across EMEA and international markets, showcasing media opportunities and campaign solutions.
- Serve as the dedicated lead contact for a defined category and portfolio of media agencies and key brand partners, managing relationships and account growth.
- Act as the primary contact for international sales teams and independent representatives, supporting cross-regional alignment and communication.
- Oversee the end-to-end sales lifecycle—from pitch development through to campaign delivery—in close collaboration with internal creative and operations teams.
- Support the Partnerships Director on key account campaigns, ensuring continuity and best-in-class service for long-term partners.
- Collaborate with regional Partnership Sales leads to manage global accounts with UK, European and APAC presence if needed.
- Partner with Disney Advertising teams to introduce and integrate Disney+ ad-tier offerings with Nat Geo clients across international markets.
- Maintain a comprehensive and accurate sales pipeline and provide timely revenue forecasts and business updates.
- Champion the National Geographic brand at industry events, presentations, and partner engagements.
The Experience We Require From You:
- Graduate level or equivalent experience
- Previous experience at the Manager level
- Experience working with both clients and agencies
- Proven experience delivering revenue success and growth through digital campaigns and partnerships
- Excellent knowledge of multi-media platforms including digital, social & TV (and print if possible)
- Ambitious self-starter who is driven to hit sales targets from existing and new clients
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of digital and social media landscape, covering the buying and planning of media on various digital platforms
- A minimum of 5 years digital media sales/partnership experience.
