The Role:
We have an exciting opening for an Aerodynamic Surface Designer to work within our Aero Design group. You will work collaboratively alongside other skilled designers and aerodynamicists to generate new surface concepts for our Formula One program. As a valued member of our Aerodynamics Department, your ideas and skills will make a tangible contribution to the Team.
Key Responsibilities:

Creating CAD surfaces for new aerodynamic concepts, working closely with our aerodynamicists

Maintaining our surface models

Support with the release of aero surface geometry to the full-size car design office.

Developing our capability, methodology and processes, e.g. the next generation of CAD tools

What we are looking for:
You are passionate about design and surfacing, with a determination to deliver at the highest level, applying your skills and understanding to practical engineering challenges.
Essential skills and experiences:

Experience in a professional surfacing role, for example in motorsport, nautical, aerospace or automotive engineering or in product design

Skilled in using a high-end CAD package for surfacing. We use CATIA 3DX, but candidates with experience of surfacing in other packages, and who are interested in developing their skills, are also welcome.

A creative and thoughtful approach to solving engineering challenges

Capable of working on your own and applying your reflective nature to understand a problem, your open and honest communication style means you also relish collaborating in a team setting. With a broad overview of your subject, you enjoy discussing technical concepts and finding solutions to problems that require an eye for detail design, interpretive skill and dependable judgment.
