Job Summary

The successful candidate will work on a variety of schemes within the Power & Energy and Highways sector.

Power projects include onshore wind farms, offshore wind farms, grid connection infrastructure, public road improvements, and other highways elements for renewable energy infrastructure projects. The role involves technical design, multidisciplinary design management, and project management. It is suitable for those approaching or recently achieving chartership with ICE or IHE.

  • At least three years’ postgraduate experience
  • Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), council highways standards, and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
  • Experience in highway/road drainage design
  • Experience in highway/road alignment and earthworks design
  • Ability to work in a team, managing junior team members
  • Experience designing SUDS (soakaways, swales, attenuation ponds) per UK SUDS Manual
  • Hydraulic modelling experience of surface water drainage networks
  • Experience liaising with local councils or Trunk Road Operators for design acceptance
  • Proficiency in Civils 3D, CAD, & MicroDrainage software
  • Experience in design or project management
  • Knowledge of SEPA guidelines, CAR regulations, and licensing
  • Approaching or recently achieved chartered status with ICE or IHE

Qualifications:

  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or related field
