The role

As aCAFM Senior Support Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Play a pivotal role in transforming Babcock’s Maintenance operations, contributing to the delivery of the Asset Analytics modernisation programme and supporting customer readiness for a forthcoming contract. Join a dynamic team driving innovation, efficiency, and performance improvement across critical infrastructure.

Day-to-day, you’ll manage and optimise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CAFM), delivering new projects, continuous improvements, and tailored training to enhance asset maintenance performance and support business objectives across Babcock Devonport.

  • Manage the CAFM across all Babcock Devonport departments.
  • Lead CAFM projects, analysing requirements and recommending cost-effective implementation solutions.
  • Design, manage, and deliver training programmes for new and existing system users.
  • Drive system improvements to enhance maintenance cost-effectiveness and align with business goals.
  • Analyse maintenance process issues and develop targeted training strategies to address deficiencies.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the CAFM Senior Support Engineer

  • Strong understanding of relational databases and database system administration.
  • Proven experience in programming technologies, including VB, VBA, Java, and SQL for Windows environments.
  • Skilled in report development tools and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with CAFM system functionality is desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance operations, covering material management, labour, finance, and workflow.

Qualifications for the CAFM Senior Support Engineer

  • Possess a degree or equivalent experience (e.g. HND/C in computing or engineering) with a strong background in database systems administration or a related information services field.
