Overview:
We're seeking a commercially minded Senior Data Engineer to join a growing business in Belfast on a contract basis, with a strong view to transition into a permanent role. You'll be instrumental in driving business performance through impactful data engineering, analysis, and insights – using your technical expertise with the Microsoft stack and your ability to translate data into action.
Key Responsibilities:

Build, maintain, and optimise robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and related tools.

Lead data integration projects across multiple business units.

Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver actionable insights.

Contribute to data architecture decisions and improve data governance.

Drive analytics initiatives to support strategic business goals.
Essential Skills:
-
Proven experience in data engineering, ideally in a senior capacity.

Strong hands-on experience with the Azure data ecosystem (ADF, Synapse, SQL, etc.).

Proficiency in Microsoft technologies including Power BI.

Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud data storage.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills – ability to turn data into business strategy.
Desirable:

Background in a commercial, customer-centric, or high-growth business.

Experience supporting decision-makers with real-time, data-driven insights.
