Job Summary:

Marine Fuels Trader at Oilmar will be responsible for purchasing and selling marine fuel to vessels, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and clients, negotiating contracts, and managing the logistics of fuel delivery.

Marine Fuels Trader must stay informed about market trends and pricing while effectively managing financial and operational risks. This position demands strong negotiation skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary activity is to carry out back-to-back bunker trading
  • Canvassing and developing customers for ship owners, operators, and charterers
  • Leveraging the existing team for supply sources
  • Monitor the entire supply chain and trade cycle, right from loading, operations, delivery, and payments
  • Responsible for maintaining and collecting accounts receivables and relevant payments for the trades
  • Generating daily indications and pricing from suppliers to the team and to the clients
  • Recording and follow up on all trade-related activities and payments associated with trades
  • Maintaining and documenting the enquiries and deals in the database via Excel and company ERP
  • Achieving KPIs and monthly targets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in bunker trading or a related field within the maritime industry
  • Strong understanding of the maritime industry, including knowledge of vessel operations, fuel specifications, and international bunkering regulations
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and clients
  • Understanding of financial markets, risk management, and the ability to analyze market trends and pricing
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices for pollution prevention in the maritime industry
  • Essential qualities include being a team player with a positive attitude
  • Strong compliance drive with good organizational skills
