Description About the role Reporting to our Head of Investigations you will provide senior management support to our Investigation Team Managers, and their respective teams. You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality and effective investigations process, where a person-centred approach to management of our cases is at the heart of our investigations function.You will provide leadership in the delivery of the Investigations Strategy and have oversight over particular project areas to develop and improve the work of our team.We are looking for an experienced manager to join us in either our London office, where flexibility will be required or travel from either of these offices depending on the requirements of the role. About You Essential Criteria Proven management and leadership experience ideally within a target-driven environment Significant experience of both performance and change management Ability to identify, develop and promote innovative approaches to service improvement and customer service Strong coaching and leadership skills to support team managers to get the best out of their teams Experience of identifying, managing and reporting operational risk at a senior level Desirable Criteria Experience of management within Professional Regulation. Understanding of the challenges facing casework progression. Project Management within an operational environment. First, we promote high education and professional standards for nurses and midwives across the UK, and nursing associates in England. Second, we maintain the register of professionals eligible to practise. Third, we investigate concerns about nurses, midwives and nursing associates – something that affects a tiny minority of professionals each year. We believe in giving professionals the chance to address concerns, but well always take action when needed.To regulate well, we support our professions and the public. We create resources and guidance that are useful throughout peoples careers, helping them to deliver our standards in practice and address new challenges. We also support people involved in our investigations, and were increasing our visibility so people feel engaged and empowered to shape our work. Regulating and supporting our professions allows us to influence health and social care. We share intelligence from our regulatory activities and work with our partners to support workforce planning and sector-wide decision making. The role you are applying for is a flexible role, and whilst you will be posted initially to a team, this may require movement between teams as the flow of work dictates. Successful candidates will be appointed to a particular NMC Office, but you may be required to travel to other NMC locations, that are reasonable daily commute from your home office. This may involve collating information, providing a witness statement, or giving oral evidence on behalf of the NMC. However in exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a salary above the bottom of the relevant pay band but we may request proof of current earnings. Please note that we offer an annual review of salaries and adopt a generous progressive pay approach. Further details of which are available on request.
