About the Company

A local business with a widely recognised name are looking to recruit for a Payroll officer to join their team. The company who operate throughout the UK and Ireland and Europe have recently experienced rapid growth and due to this expansion are looking to add to their Accounts Team

About the Job

You will be responsible for Assisting with and completing a full end to end payroll function.

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls on a timely basis
  • Assist with processing bonus information and calculations, ensuring bonus payments are correct and paid within the bonus and payroll payment time frame.
  • Maintaining and monitoring time and attendance system as required
  • Calculate/Process sickness payments in accordance with policies
  • Calculate (average) weekly holiday payments
  • Performing associated payroll duties, processing new starts, leavers, SSP/SMP payments and generating P45s
  • Making all HMRC returns on a weekly / monthly basis and have sound knowledge of PAYE, NIC, HMRC and Government returns and to keep up to date with payroll legislation changes.
  • Prepare payroll related payments e.g. HMRC, Pension, Childcare Vouchers are prepared and processed accurately and on time
  • Assist with monthly pension preparation, submission and administration as necessary
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly general ledger journals
  • Prepare weekly and monthly analysis reports for management
  • Assist with processing end of year duties & returns.
  • Preparation of P11Ds and any other returns relating to benefits

Your skills & experience

  • Previous Experience working in a busy Payroll Position (Essential)
  • Experience of Time & Attendance software packages
  • Good Microsoft Excel Knowledge
  • Good numeracy, maintaining a high level of accuracy, numerate/analytical – attention to detail
