What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above, including Maths and English
  • At least 2 years experience in a payroll department
  • Strong knowledge of statutory regulations and payroll processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input payroll information into Sage and other systems to ensure timely and accurate salary payments
  • Process staff expense sheets
  • Ensure correct payments to HMRC and other bodies for Income Tax, National Insurance, pensions, and other deductions
  • Investigate and recover any payroll overpayments to staff
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from staff and departments
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to maintain payroll accuracy and compliance
