Systems Engineering Manager role within the defence sector working for one of the UK’s leading businesses within cryptography and data security! We are looking for someone with a systems engineering background who has moved into an engineering management role of a multi-disciplined team of engineers, delivering complex, technical engineering projects. This role comes with a great benefits package including: ~10% annual bonus ~£5,000 clearance allowance ~9-day fortnight and flexible working ~ Couples’ private medical insurance ~6-months full pay mat-leave, and 1-month full pay pat-leave ~ Wealth of training and career development opportunities into a Head of Discipline or Chief Engineer role Provision of engineering leadership and management of concurrent engineering to ensure that assigned projects and tasking are delivered to scope, cost and schedule. Responsible for the executing the engineering delivery of projects of a variety of sizes in accordance with business, management and technical processes. Lead all project engineering activities and the team, aligned to ISO 15288 and ISO 24748 processes, defining and continuous implementation of a systems approach. Effectively delegate responsibilities, monitoring and managing progress to achieve the scope of the engineering to satisfaction of the budget, schedule and governance stakeholders. Assure and govern the implementation and application of engineering in accordance with the agreed plans and processes. Demonstrate full knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycle, V and numerous development models (Iterative, Incremental etc) Proven engineering management, technical leadership and mentoring skills, with experience of overseeing a team of a minimum of 10 multi-discipline engineers. Experience of strategy, planning and design of complex solutions, as either standalone capability or for integrating in/with other systems. Proven Systems Engineering techniques/methods, i.Identify project growth and development opportunities from internal and external influence. Experience engineering lifecycle tools and their use to manage the work, configuration management, traceability and support the generation of metrics. Support external engagement, with travel, to both customer and supplier meetings, as the team lead and a key project/business representative. Ensure and assure the delivery of all agreed products throughout all Life Cycle phases across one or more assigned projects.
