Nelson Permanent Placements are working with our client recruiting for a Senior Chemical Engineer with relevant experience to join a family-owned company in West Bromwich which has been operating for over 150 years.

To be considered for this role as a Senior Chemical Engineer you will be
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering
- Proven track record of Chemical Engineering
- Experienced in the FMCG and Chemical manufacturing
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Chemical Engineer
- Act as a Project Leader top specified projects, having budgeting responsibility.
- Liaise with the Project Engineering section to develop the plant design, layout, costing and proposals for authorisation.
- Adhering health, safety, compliance and code of practice is met at all times in the Chemical Engineering Department.
- Design, implementation and commissioning of plant modification proposals, ensuring all hazard assessments and HAZOP s are carried out.
- Deciding the scope and extent of hazard assessment required relevant to the process, carrying out calculations, advising on testing programmes to obtain further data, initiating and leading HAZOPs as required, and revising designs accordingly, and maintaining the risk assessment record system.
- Advise other Engineers, Customers, Contractors and Consultants on technical matters covering design, safety, and materials of construction and processing techniques.
Requirements of a Senior Chemical Engineer
- You must hold a Chemical Engineering degree as a minimum.
- You will have five years industrial experience.
- Experience of DSEAR methodology, relief system sizing and DIERS methodology is desirable.
- COMAH regulations and implementation is advantageous.
Senior Chemical Engineer
- Salary of up to £55,000 depending on experience
