Job Description

What will I be doing?

This is a hybrid role, combining remote work with in-office collaboration. The successful candidate will work from home and spend time in our office to engage with colleagues and stakeholders across the UK, Bulgaria, and India, working across different time zones for seamless communication and service delivery.

Additionally, you will provide on-call support outside of normal hours, including overnight and weekends, with contributions recognized and rewarded.

As a Database Administrator, you will support well-known clients worldwide, ensuring database integrity and security through regular communication with technical, applications, and operational teams. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring database integrity, availability, and security through regular communication
  • Monitoring and managing SQL Server databases (including Azure SQL Database & Managed Instance)
  • Implementing critical maintenance tasks like backups and integrity checks
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database incidents per SLAs
  • Query tuning and performance optimization
  • Installing and configuring SQL Server components
  • Performing scheduled maintenance, support, and upgrades
  • Documenting databases, data standards, procedures, and definitions
  • Capacity planning
  • Managing security and disaster recovery
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on SQL Server and data
