To effectively manage the warehousing operations at Washington DC, to ensure the highest levels of customer service are attained at optimal cost in support of the business objectives.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to manage the warehouse inbound and outbound operations. Excellent time management skills and resource planning will be required to ensure that all customer demands are met in this diverse operation. The Warehouse Manager will oversee the operation for the DC warehouse site.

Who you will work with

Internal: Buying, Shipping Dept, Sales & Service, Exports, Compliance, Despatch, Fine Wine Team, Stock control, Site Services, IT, Finance, BBR Shops, People team.

What you will do

  • Take responsibility and accountability for the organisation and monitoring of the warehouse resources to support the business objectives
  • Co-ordinate the daily running of the DC warehouse operations to achieve daily targets for the Inbound and Outbound operation. This includes the picking and packing of orders for next day delivery and the accurate receipt and put-away of deliveries.
  • Maintain efficient and accurate Inbound and Outbound operations by initiating, coordinating, and monitoring policies and procedures.
  • Effectively manage warehouse team performance and achieve objectives as agreed with the General Manager
  • Promoting and demonstrating a culture of continuous improvement within the warehouse.
  • Planning inventory counts by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system.
  • To ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation and ensuring the warehouse environment is maintained to the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
  • Maintain site security and be a key holder with on call responsibilities.
  • Maintain warehouse staff accuracy performance by coaching, counselling, training, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Annual completion of PDP’s.
  • Holiday, absence and overtime management
  • Maintains warehouse staff by selecting, recruiting, and training employees. Liaising with the agencies if required
  • Knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Reporting performance against KPIs, and developing action plans

Experience / Achievements

  • Demonstrate understanding of excellent stock integrity.
  • Previous experience of stock consolidation procedures to maximise occupancy.
  • Working in a multi-site operation.
  • Local warehouse experience.

Your Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours

  • Understanding and practical use of the ERP system (Microsoft Business Central)
  • Basic level Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
  • Warehouse MHE including safe operation and fault reporting.
  • Leads by example and sets the highest standards for service, flexibility, accuracy and attendance, with a can-do attitude
  • Achieves deadlines by demonstrating excellent time management skills.
