Structural Engineer with Python coding for Design Engineer in Offshore Renewables

Lead Programmer for software tools for Leading Renewable Engineering Company

NB: please note it is essential to have OO software coding & structural engineering experience – any of Java/ C++/ C#, VB/ Python.

THE COMPANY:

Specialist engineers to the renewable energy sector – offshore wind, tidal, wave, marine. A fast growing, innovative and exciting renewable company to work for, that offer excellent chances for technical and personal development.

The Role:

  1. Lead programmer for new software tool for offshore wind.
  2. You will be leading development of offshore wind turbine foundations concept design tool.
  3. You will enjoy the challenge of creating code, and have experience with codes such as Matlab, Python or similar.
  4. Foundations & steel design for offshore wind turbines – stress, FE, loads modelling and complete design of large offshore foundations eg. Jackets, Monopiles and steel towers.
  5. Supported by experienced offshore structural engineers, who will help shape the direction of the development with you and will be able to provide specific offshore wind guidance if required.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  1. Mechanical / Structural / Civil Engineering degree
  2. Offshore Wind engineering experience
  3. Experienced programmer using Matlab &/ Python
  4. Structural engineering.

Advantage to have any of the following:

  1. DNV’s SESAM-GENIE.
  2. dynamics of offshore wind turbine foundation (Jackets / Monopiles/ Floating)
  3. Steel Structures eg Steel towers.
  4. Geotechnical

NB: please note it is essential to have offshore wind structural engineering experience. Our client has an excellent attitude towards ongoing personal development, Training & Development. Perm role based in UK.
