Overview
Are you an experienced Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon Specialist looking for your next leadership role? As Clinical Director at frank. Pet Surgeons, you will lead and mentor our veterinary team while maintaining a hands-on clinical role. You will have dedicated clinical time to work up cases, perform surgeries, and provide excellent patient care, with protected time for leadership responsibilities.
As part of a Specialist-led surgical team, you will lead a team of surgeons and surgical interns and work within a site dedicated to surgery and orthopaedics. This is a rare opportunity to shape and expand a surgical service at the forefront of veterinary orthopaedics.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 4 Surgeons (2 Specialists) and 3 Surgical Interns; provide clinical leadership and direction.
- Perform and oversee advanced orthopaedic surgeries, including total hip replacements and other complex procedures.
- Maintain hands-on clinical work with dedicated time to work up cases and ensure high standards of patient care.
- Collaborate with a Specialist-led team focused on surgical excellence and adoption of advanced techniques.
- Utilise state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to deliver high-quality orthopaedic care.
- Engage in continuous professional development and participate in the hospital’s Surgical Complications Guarantee program.
What we’re looking for / Qualifications
- RCVS, American, or European Boarded Diplomate credentials are encouraged.
- Extensive experience with total hip replacements and other advanced orthopaedic procedures.
- Willingness to lead and develop a dedicated surgical team in a busy, specialist setting.
- Full-time availability; typical pattern = 40 hours over 4 days with a 1:3 on-call commitment.
