The Role: Head of Fire Safety
We are looking for a Head of Fire Safety to lead the strategic growth and technical excellence of our fire safety division. This is a national leadership role that combines technical authority, compliance assurance, client influence, and business development.
As our most senior fire safety expert, you’ll shape best practice across the business, guide the development of new services, and ensure we maintain the highest standards in compliance and innovation as we grow this part of our business from £50m to over £200m over the next five years.
Responsibilities
- Act as the group’s senior technical authority across passive and active fire safety services
- Ensure full compliance with current regulations, British Standards, and third-party accreditations (e.g. FIRAS, BM Trada)
- Lead and coordinate our national fire safety compliance team and internal audit processes
- Support business development, tender submissions, and client engagements as fire subject matter expert
- Shape our long-term fire safety strategy in partnership with the Chief Commercial Officer
Requirements
- Deep technical knowledge of passive and active fire safety systems
- Strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation (e.g. Fire Safety Order, Building Safety Act, PAS 9980)
- Minimum IFE Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety and experience presenting to clients and boards
Nice-to-haves:
- Chartered status with a relevant fire safety or construction body
- Experience in digital fire safety compliance or working within public sector frameworks
