Overview
SEIMAF UK is seeking candidates with experience in lifting/handling or waste in a nuclear or other regulated industry to support the Turbine Hall Crane and Polar Crane. The work focuses on manufacturing support for the new equipment, on-site commissioning after installation, and safety-case support throughout the process. Onsite commissioning at HPC is planned for 2027. Location preferences include HPC/Bristol/Gloucester areas.
Location
Close to the HPC, Bristol, or Gloucester areas are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Delivering manufacturing support for the new equipment.
- Three engineers are to support lifting and mechanical handling.
- Commissioning on site after installation
- Verification that commissioning documentation is to the right standard and demonstrates a golden-thread from original requirements through testing plans.
- Reviews on a sample of the documentation, rather than 100% basis.
- Sentencing of commissioning non-conformances and oversight of solutions to maintain design intent.
- On-site support during commissioning to enable expedited responses.
- Provision of safety-case support through this process.
SCOPE – LIFTING
- Delivering manufacturing support for the new equipment.
- During manufacture, ensure that equipment is produced in accordance with British regulations and has the required safety-case validation to support this. Manage change requests and non-conformances to maintain baseline design requirements.
SCOPE – WASTE
- Engineers with experience in the mechanical handling of waste materials in a nuclear or other regulated industry.
Skills / Qualifications
- Experience in either lifting/handling or waste in a nuclear or other regulated industry.
- Minimum baseline security vetting.
- Knowledge of EDF systems would be advantageous.
