Your Impact:
The Utilities Application Engineering Manager will oversee a global team supporting monitoring solutions in the electrical Transmission and Distribution sector. Your main goal is to provide timely support to new and existing customers, ensuring the reliability and availability of electrical assets.
You will collaborate with sales, customer service, quotations, and field services, traveling to key accounts as needed for support and training. You will also work with engineering teams to address technical challenges. Our customer base spans over 60 countries, with team members across continents to ensure responsive support within different time zones. This team is a key talent pool for Qualitrol and offers significant professional growth opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Mentoring and leading the Applications Engineering team to promote sales of monitoring systems globally.
- Collaborating with Sales Management on deployment, prioritization, technical support, and resource allocation to meet proposal and project deadlines.
- Monitoring team effectiveness and impact on revenue, customer response times, and satisfaction.
- Identifying training needs and implementing development programs.
Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A BS degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; an MS is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical customer service or commercial operations, preferably within the utility Transmission, Distribution, or Power Generation industries.
- Good understanding of IT, communication protocols, instrumentation, and basic programming tools.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in presentations and public speaking.
- A proven track record of leading successful teams focused on development and engagement.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in technical and process issues.
- Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce.com is a plus.
