Masstemps are looking for a conventional Lathe Operative to Produces machined parts by Set up, operate, or tend lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Key Tasks 1. Study engineering drawings and job orders for information on specifications to determine material requirements and operational sequences. 2. Plan machining activities keeping in mind the work orders and engineering drawings 3. Inspect work to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as gauges, and micrometers. 4. Lift metal stock or work pieces manually or using crane hoists, and position and secure them in machines. 5. Adjust controls to set cutting speeds and depths and feed rates, and to position tools in relation to work pieces. 6. Follow the machining process from the very beginning to the end to ensure quality of parts. 7. Troubleshoot machining problems during processes to ensure efficacy of procedure 8. Provide tooling and fixing improvement solutions as needed during each machining procedure 9. Complete all reports and other paperwork associated with machining projects in process Hours 8am to 4.30 finishing at 1pm on Friday Pay £12.00 to £15.00 per hour If you wish to apply, please submit your CV or call (phone number removed)
