Overview: The Forward Trust are a UK leading provider of drug and alcohol treatment services to offenders. We deliver treatment and recovery support – in prisons and in the community – which helps people move away from addiction and crime. These services provide a variety of support, including advice, counselling, group work and intensive treatment. At The Forward Trust we believe that all people who are addicted to or misusing substances should have access to support which is effective in protecting their health, and motivating them to take steps towards their own recovery. Over 20 years of pursuing this mission, we have been successful in moving thousands of drug dependent offenders away from a lifestyle revolving around crime, and drug or alcohol dependence. What you will be doing?: The Forward Trust provide the psychosocial substance misuse service at HMP Onley. As a Recovery Worker you will be responsible for managing a caseload of clients, completing comprehensive assessments, providing harm reduction advice, and developing individual care plans tailored to the client\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s needs. You will be expected to deliver structured one to one sessions and group-work programmes, including accredited groups. You will provide transitional support from prison to the community to prepare service users for release. What we are looking for?: If you have at least 4 of the following we would like you to apply: · A Passion to help people change · Experience of working within mental health or substance misuse services and delivering structured interventions. · Experience of using CBT and/or motivational counselling skills · Understanding of the Recovery Agenda · Use of motivational interviewing techniques in both 1:1 and group settings · Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers and low-level mental health service users · An understanding of mutual aid groups · Lived experience and stable in recovery · A counselling qualification · Experience of working in criminal justice. Having a full UK driving license is desirable due to the rural location and poor transport links.
