Job Vacancy This role is to support the effective running of Penicuik Town Hall (Cowan Institute). The 16 hours will be worked to meet the needs of the building and user groups/lets. KNOWLEDGE All Jobholders are required to be numerate, effective communicators and be experienced in dealing with the public. Previous caretaking/cleaning experience is desirable. CLOSING DATE – Sunday 9th February 2025 INTERVIEW DATE – Wednesday 19th February 2025 Job Advert Position Title: Cleaner/Caretaker Directorate: Children, Young People and Partnership Working from Home: No Location: Penicuik Town Hall Contract Status: Fixed term until 31/12/2026 Hours of Work: 16 Working Pattern: Hours can include Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu afternoons/evenings; Sat morning-afternoon Weeks per year: 52 Based on 16 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £11,504.64 per annum. Requirements This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children and adults. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children and Adults. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
