Horizon Teachers are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their SEN Team and support on a 1:1 basis with children who are on the Autism spectrum and who may also have an additional diagnosis of ADHD.
This role will include supporting on a 1:1 basis inside and outside of the classroom, supporting the students academically and pastorally and may contain with feeding, and personal care.
Key responsibilities:
- To work under the direction and guidance of the SENCO to remove barriers to learning for an individual pupil in or out of the classroom
- To support safe travel around the site and to ensure personal needs are met
- To use specialist skills/training to support students to make progress in their learning and in their personal and social development
- To support the social and emotional wellbeing of the individual student
- To monitor students\’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed by SENCO
- To support students to catch up learning following any absence
- To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to the SEND code of practice, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
