DCT Recruitment is working with a respected kitchen furniture manufacturer based in Liverpool who are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Beam Saw Operator to join their production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate cutting of sheet materials such as MDF, particleboard and plywood to size, following cutting lists and production specifications. Your precision and attention to detail will be essential in producing high-quality components for kitchen cabinets, units and panels. Key Responsibilities: •Operate and monitor beam saw machinery to cut materials accurately for kitchen furniture production. •Read and interpret technical drawings, cut lists and job sheets to ensure precise dimensions and material selection. •Programme machine settings using CNC or other computerised interfaces for batch cutting. •Select appropriate boards and sheets based on material type and thickness requirements. •Load, align and secure sheets safely on the beam saw table for precise cutting. •Inspect cuts for accuracy, squareness and finish quality. •Optimise material usage to reduce waste and support cost-effective production. •Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the saw and work area. •Collaborate with assembly, CNC and edge banding teams to maintain smooth production flow. •Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including PPE usage and safe material handling. Requirements: •Proven experience operating a beam saw in a woodworking or furniture manufacturing environment. •Ability to read and understand technical drawings and cutting lists. •Strong numerical skills and keen attention to detail. •Physically fit and able to handle sheet materials (lifting aids provided where necessary). •Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach. •Knowledge of kitchen cabinet components and furniture production is desirable but not essential. Working Environment: •Workshop/production floor environment with exposure to dust, noise and moving machinery. •Requires standing, lifting, bending and operating equipment for extended periods. •PPE including safety glasses, gloves and ear protection must be worn at all times. All holidays must be taken during factory shutdown periods: Easter week, first two weeks of August, and 6 days over Christmas
