Mechanical Design Engineer – SolidWorks Permanent Full-Time Salary – Circa £36,000 DOE Location – Office based in Dartford Join a well-established engineering firm specialising in vehicle repair and refurbishment. With over two decades of industry expertise, the company delivers services including chassis alignment, axle straightening, bodywork, paint systems, and equipment installation. Known for its technical precision and fast turnaround, it supports both fleet operators and individual clients. We\’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks skills to lead design projects, create technical drawings, support prototyping, and contribute to product documentation and installations. Responsibilities, but are not limited to Lead mechanical design projects from concept through to completion Create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks Develop detailed assembly and part drawings for manufacturing Manage multiple projects, including one primary and several smaller ones Liaise with suppliers for component sourcing and oversee prototyping/testing Prepare technical documentation, manuals, and installation guides Conduct occasional site visits to support installations and sign-offs Drive continuous improvement in design processes and product developmentExperiences required Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and 2D technical drawings Background in Mechanical Engineering (degree or time-served) Experience producing drawing packs for sheet metal and fabricated parts Familiarity with SolidWorks Composer or similar tools (e.g. Blender, SketchUp, Unity, Cadasio, Dyvixion, Autodesk Maya) is a plusPackage 40 Hours P/W | Monday to Friday | 8am to 4:30am | 28 Days Holiday Inc.
