The role

As aProduction Controller – Electrical, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The department is growing to meet the significant future demands of the SSN maintenance program. This future demand sees the requirement for the current team to expand over the next 5 years with opportunities to progress within the team and build a career in submarine delivery.

Day-to-day, you’ll operate out of the newly developed 10 dock facility and the new 5 Basin east wall central berth. The team will support SSN deep maintenance periods in accordance with MOD requirements.

  • Plan work for the Electrical section within the specified submarine Zone.
  • Break out work and prepare Manageable Tasks in accordance with local guidance and company processes.
  • Represent production electrical work in the development of schedules and plans.
  • Providing data & information (scale & scope of capacities, resources & activities) such that operational capability, commitments are reflected accurately in the project schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S policies and demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement including compliance with nuclear safety in the electrical section.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with up to 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Production Controller – Electrical

  • In depth knowledge of Marine electrical systems and the interdependencies of release logic.
  • Excellent knowledge of scheduling and work break out.
  • Excellent knowledge in production techniques pertaining to the repair of Marine Electrical systems.
  • Understating of regulatory compliance and how its effect on enablement.
  • Deep understanding of H&S at work rules, best practices and implementation.

Qualifications for the Production Controller – Electrical

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
  • ILM Level 3 or equivalent. – Institute of Leadership and Management.
