Our Head Office is based in Stockton-on-Tees and is home to our administrative support teams, engineering & maintenance support team & energy services teams. The Offices are located on the river Tees with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Management Accountant on a 6 month fixed term basis.

The Management Accountant produces high quality, timely and accurate internal financial information for use by management and budget holders within the Group, to diligently follow the Group’s financial procedures to ensure compliance with relevant financial legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for an assigned division of the Group
  • Accountability for the sales and purchase ledger processes (including debt management) for the assigned division and oversight of the work of junior team members
  • Undertaking accounting tasks relating to the financial month-end close process
  • Accountability for the completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provision of information for statutory and commercial audits
  • Short to medium-term cashflow forecasting for the assigned division
  • Preparation of and/or review and approval of VAT Returns for the assigned division

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

Minimum Requirements:

  • Part-ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent) or working towards an accounting qualification/degree.
  • Relevant experience with (including successful contribution to) the following:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and reports;
  • Ad hoc cost and other financial reports;
  • Maintaining ledgers;
  • Preparing/reviewing reconciliations;
  • Variance analysis;
  • Cash management & forecasting;
  • Preparation and submission of VAT Returns
  • Working with and reporting to external clients
  • Up-to-date knowledge of basic financial reporting standards and best practice.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
