Salary: £12.36 per hour + Pension Scheme & Holiday Pay
Hours: Full-time - 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), an agency of the Ministry of Justice, through Brook Street. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Administrative Officer to support operations at Luton Magistrates' Court.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide face-to-face and telephone support to court users.
- Prepare documents for court hearings, process court orders.
- Handle applications from individuals interested in becoming magistrates.
- Process court orders and liaise with internal and external parties.
- Scan and upload documents to internal databases.
- Coordinate with judiciary members and other stakeholders.
- Schedule hearings, issue court documents, and execute a variety of administrative tasks including warrant processing and fine collection (chip & pin involved).
This is an office-based role - remote work is not available.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Administrative experience and good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage tasks independently.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in a legal, court, or government setting is a plus but not essential.
