Abatec is proud to be partnering with a Strategic Delivery Partner on South West Water’s £3 billion AMP8 Delivery Framework to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure programme delivered in collaboration with multiple contractors under an innovative alliance model. Our client has secured the Infrastructure Water and Wastewater package, covering Devon, Bournemouth, and Bristol. The framework will run for an initial 6-year period, with the potential to extend to 2035, providing long-term stability and continuity of work. With an impressive £91 million turnover our client is exceptionally well-positioned to deliver complex, high-value programmes across the region. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in transformative infrastructure projects while working within a dynamic and fast-growing organisation committed to innovation and collaboration. About the Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor: * Lead quantity surveying activities across multiple civil engineering and infrastructure projects within the AMP8 framework. * Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and commercial reports to ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters. * Manage procurement processes, including tendering, subcontractor negotiations, and contract award. * Monitor project expenditure, forecast costs, and analyse financial risks to provide proactive commercial advice. * Administer contracts, including valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts, ensuring compliance with contract conditions. * Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to support smooth delivery and financial control. * Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit and reporting requirements. * Mentor junior quantity surveyors and support the development of the commercial team. Our client requires a Quantity Surveyor with: * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, water infrastructure, or utilities sectors, preferably on large-scale frameworks. * Strong commercial awareness and understanding of NEC3/NEC4. * Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. * Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office suite. * Ability to work independently and lead commercial aspects of multiple concurrent projects. * Relevant professional qualification (e.g., RICS accreditation) preferred. * Willingness to travel within the South West region, including Devon, Bournemouth, and Bristol.
