We’re looking for a detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join our client’s Finance team in Wokingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with prior accounting experience who’s ready to contribute to a busy, fast paced finance function and grow within a supportive, team-oriented environment. The role is working Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm and is fully office based. Also, due to the location of the role it is best to be a car driver. The salary will be £26,000- £30,000 dependent on experience plus an annual discretionary bonus of up to 12%. Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant role are: You’ll play a key part in the day-to-day financial operations by: * Processing invoices, staff expenses, receipts, and credit card transactions * Running payments and maintaining accurate ledger records * Supporting month-end activities, including journal entries and financial reporting * Preparing and reconciling supplier/customer statements * Posting and reconciling daily/monthly bank transactions * Managing the purchase ledger inbox and petty cash * Taking credit card payments over the phone Skills required for the Accounts Assistant role are: * Experience in a similar role (Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper) * A keen eye for detail and strong numerical accuracy * Comfortable using Microsoft Office and accounting software * Excellent communication and a collaborative mindset * Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines * A sound understanding of core accounting principles Benefits: * 12% annual bonus potential * Up to 6% pension contribution * 25 days leave, plus bank holidays, increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ service * Electric car salary sacrifice scheme * £600 annual personal development budget * Regular staff events * Referral scheme – earn up to £500 for each successfully recommended employee * Progression: Clear pathways for career advancement Ready to take the next step in your finance career?
