The Role and Department

Sport

Durham University is one of Europe\’s leading sport universities and has been ranked in the top three for BUCS performance since 2013. In 2019, the University completed a £32m Sports & Wellbeing Park, adding to a prior investment of £8m in 2012, making it one of the strongest sports facilities in the north of England. The University was awarded the Times and Sunday Times Sports University of the Year for 2023 due to its excellent performance across various networks.

Primarily, the Head Coach will lead and develop the men\’s and women\’s football programme at Durham University.

The Post Holder Will Be Responsible For

  • The development and implementation of a strategy for football
  • Leading recruitment of the best men\’s and women\’s footballers
  • Technical training, team development, tactical strategy
  • Promoting academic excellence

Additionally, the Head Coach will liaise with the Football Association and other stakeholders to develop and deliver fundraising opportunities to grow the programme.
