DCT Recruitment are looking to recruit experiences Compliance Officer to work directly with our client based in Speke, Liverpool. The primary responsibility is to interpret the complex regulations of the food industry and ensure effective implementation of regulations within the organisation. You must stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry standards, and best practices relevant to the sector. Main Responsibilities and Duties: • Performing routine risk assessments to help organisations understand compliance risk. Working with clients to ensure final products meet their needs and requirements. • Collaborate with an organisation’s purchasing manager to ensure raw materials from external suppliers meet quality requirements. • Collaborating with management from other departments to ensure compliance and investigating irregularities, and taking action. • Monitoring the organisation’s compliance with regulations and internal policies to ensure they are up to date with the relevant laws. Developing and implementing quality control tests. • Monitor product development processes to identify deviations from quality policies. • Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality standards are met. • Educating employees on compliance regulations and the impact of non-compliance on the organisation, • Reviewing marketing materials, websites, and packaging to ensure compliance with regulations. • Assisting in the gathering of information internally in response to requests by regulatory organisations. Assist external quality auditors in coordinating on-site audits. • Performing administrative tasks such as file creation and maintaining files of ongoing projects. Maintain proper records of quality tests, procedures, and standards. • Review existing process and product specifications to identify the need for improvement or upgrade. Skills: Essential: • A Higher Certificate in Food Control (HCFC) or a Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection (HCFPI) • HACCP Training: Understanding and potentially holding a qualification in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) • Level 3 Food Safety • 2 years of experience in a food compliance-related role • Strong understanding of food safety regulations • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) • Food Safety Regulations: Thorough knowledge of UK and EU food safety regulations, including those related to food hygiene, labelling, and traceability • Auditing: Experience with auditing against standards like BRC (British Retail Consortium) Desirable: • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or Environmental Health • Experience with the latest version of the BRC standard • Knowledge in the CBD sector with regard to compliance • Strong knowledge of Novell foods and the application process • If you are passionate about compliance and eager to contribute to our organisation\’s integrity, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
