Domestic Gas Engineer / Trainee Commercial Engineer £44/46k – South London/Surrey

My client is a commercial heating company that has been in operation for 25 years, providing mechanical engineering solutions to their customer portfolio.

They are now seeking a time-served domestic heating engineer who is looking to obtain their commercial gas tickets.

All candidates must live within the South London/Surrey catchment area.

Key Duties

  • Carry out planned service work on commercial and domestic combustion appliances (boilers, water heaters, etc.), plumbing, and some HVAC equipment (commercial appliances when fully trained/qualified).
  • Install and replace HVAC appliances, including pipework and plumbing as part of small works projects.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in various heating systems.
  • Maintain accurate service records using internal systems.
  • Participate in out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.

Skills And Experience

  • Experience with both commercial and domestic heating systems, including installation and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
  • Domestic Gas Safe certification is essential (commercial appliances when fully trained/qualified).
  • Knowledge of plumbing and pipework installation.
  • Understanding of heating systems within residential and commercial environments.
  • Ability to write RAMS and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to customer care.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Enhanced DBS check required for work in schools and colleges.

Salary And Benefits

  • £44/46k basic salary
  • Competitive salary based on experience, with opportunities for further training and professional development to obtain their commercial gas elements.
  • Full support and specialist tools are provided.
  • 8:00 to 16:30 site hours.
