Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Conference & Events Office Sales Manager to oversee a busy Events Team, ensuring the smooth planning and delivery of a wide range of functions and celebrations from first enquiry through to flawless execution.
As Conference & Events Office Sales Manager, you’ll lead a team managing event enquiries across multiple venues, driving sales and conversion. You’ll combine proactive leadership with a hands-on approach to ensure the office runs efficiently and providing ongoing coaching and training to ensure the team ask the right questions, follow up effectively and convert every opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, support and develop a team of events professionals, ensuring exceptional service and sales performance
- Oversee all enquiries, proposals and conversions for a diverse range of events and functions
- Drive conversion rates through coaching, training and the implementation of effective sales strategies
- Monitor team performance and support professional growth through regular one-to-ones and development plans
- Manage rotas, holiday approvals, sickness reporting and the daily operations of the office
- Conduct client site visits and show rounds, building lasting relationships to encourage repeat business
- Work with revenue and yield managers to align pricing and booking strategies appropriately to maximise profitability
What They’re Looking For:
- Proven experience leading a team within a hotel, venue or conference and events environment
- Strong background in events sales, with a focus on enquiry handling, proposals and conversion
- Solid understanding of sales processes, competitor awareness and yield principles
- Confident people manager with excellent communication, coaching and organisational skills
- Comfortable managing rotas, holiday approvals and day-to-day team performance
- Flexible and proactive, with a positive approach to delivering targets and exceeding client expectations
- Experienced with Delphi, Salesforce or similar CRM/booking systems
- 28 days annual leave
