About the Role
Location: Field Based covering South West England & Wales. We\’re proud to offer aFlexible Firstapproach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base \’home\’ location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around South West England or Wales.

As a Smart Buildings Business Manager, you will play a critical role in driving our expansion efforts and identifying new fostering strategic partnerships.
This is a leadership position with business P&L responsibility, running an established team covering South West England and Wales.
You Will
- Lead an engineering team working with you to achieve planned objectives and budgets focused on both business and customer needs.
- Work alongside the sales department to grow market share across the South West as well as being a key member of the Business Management Team contributing to company strategy development.
- Manage budget responsibility and forge strong relationships which will ensure commercial and financial compliance; confident the business unit objectives you set are clear and engaging at all levels you’ll regularly monitor and make improvements to maximise efficiencies.
- Have a solid understanding of the industry; ensuring competitor and market differentiation which will make for informed decision making.
You Have
- Leadership skills, this is paramount to your success as it’s essential that your stakeholders, up to and including the Senior Management team, are fully supportive of your operational objectives, plans and achievements and that a collaborative approach to meeting business challenges is established.
- Solid operational background working at a Senior Management level and as such will have experience, leading projects and support engineering teams within the construction industry, preferably within the BEMS Sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and be comfortable presenting findings through accurate forecasting and reporting. You should be an inspiration to others, setting out clear direction, developing innovative plans and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Performance Management reviews will be required with your direct reports to ensure objectives are clearly set, skill gaps identified and development plans set and reviewed.
- As you’ll be traveling to different sites its essential that you hold a full driving licence.
