About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced product manager to set out the strategic direction of the JCB Material Handling product portfolio. You’ll be responsible for identifying market trends, developing innovative features and technologies, listening and responding to the “voice of the customer” and prioritising commercial opportunities.
You’ll work with cross functional teams throughout the new product development process ensuring; industry leading attributes, promotional material, measurable customer benefits and commercial strategy are delivered with each programme. Additionally, as key activities you’ll conduct a detailed analysis of monthly forecasts vs annual budgets and monitor product costs in support of market competitiveness. This role requires a strategic thinker who has agricultural, construction or rental industry experience.
What does this roleinvolve day to day?
· You’ll be a key support to the General Manager in setting the strategic direction and product roadmap by working with regional teams to develop plans that deliver growth in-line with the five-year plan
· Propose balanced commercial strategies working closely with the commercial & sales team
· Maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape and implement appropriate action to product strategy in support of the five year plan.
· Support new product introduction programmes, including customer evaluation, benchmarking, commercial strategy, product brief and timing
· Manage and develop the Product Specialist roles and day to day activities in support of business and personal objectives
· Develop marketing and distribution strategies that support the five-year plan
· Monthly input and monitoring of the sales and operations process. i.e., budgets, forecasts and actuals
This will be suited to you if:
· You’ve got strong business and financial acumen and can construct, analyse and present business cases to drive strategic growth in-line with JCB’s five-year plan.
· You’re willing to travel as necessary in line with business requirements, with the ability to negotiate and influence at the highest level of any organisation demonstrating a sound knowledge of machinery markets.
· You’re a confident and self-aware individual who has the ability to lead and manage a multi-discipline team.
· You have a proven track record that clearly demonstrates your experience in capital equipment, leading change and developing product strategies to drive business growth.
· You have experience in the full suite of Microsoft office applications; SAP experience is a bonus, though not essential
