Position
To ensure our food pantry is prepped within a timely fashion, the back sorting area is kept tidy and safe, and incoming food donations are sorted and stored in the appropriate place
Duties
• Prepping clients’ food hampers
• Clean and sanitize food sorting surfaces before & after sorting
• Receive, weigh and record food donations
• Safely sort and store donated food items
• Restock food items by the best before date
• Refill and face pantry shelves as needed during your shift
• Put daily fresh & frozen items by their quota into the pantry
• Break down large cardboard boxes and put them into the blue recycling bins
• Keep all areas clean and tidy, returning items used to their appropriate place
• Organize back storage shelves of food
• Ensure bins are full, properly labeled and rotated for freshness
• Clean bins as they are emptied
• Wipe down sorting trolleys and blue bins
