We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Program Manager – Estimation to lead project and program-level estimation efforts across large-scale initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing accurate and consistent estimation frameworks that support business planning, resource allocation, and delivery success. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure estimates are realistic, traceable, and aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the end-to-end estimation process for large, cross-functional programs, from initial scoping through to final approval.
- Develop standardized estimation models, templates, and tools to improve forecast accuracy and repeatability.
- Work closely with engineering, product, finance, and delivery teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and create data-backed estimates.
- Maintain a repository of historical project data to inform future estimation efforts and improve forecasting accuracy.
- Facilitate estimation workshops, reviews, and iterative planning cycles.
- Monitor estimation accuracy across the project lifecycle and recommend adjustments based on actual performance vs. estimates.
- Support business case development with cost, resource, and timeline projections.
- Identify estimation risks and communicate uncertainty and confidence levels to stakeholders.
- Assist in building a center of excellence for estimation best practices and tools.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, or Solution Delivery with a strong focus on estimation practices.
- Proven experience with estimation frameworks and techniques (e.g., bottom-up, top-down, three-point estimation, function point analysis).
- Experience managing estimation across technology-driven programs, ideally in Agile or hybrid environments.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of project budgeting and cost forecasting.
- Proficient in tools such as Excel, Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar project planning and estimation tools.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills; able to bridge technical and business conversations effectively.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with estimation in cloud, martech, or data platform environments.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
- Background in consulting, professional services, or PMO operations is a plus.
