Job Description:

With 75 years of experience, our focus is on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith.

Come join our 33,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries and share the joy of transforming vulnerable children’s life stories!

Key Responsibilities:

As the Child Sponsorship Communications & Global Content Manager, you will lead the strategy, creation, and delivery of compelling, high-value content that powers fundraising and storytelling for World Vision’s global child sponsorship program.

This role is at the heart of our brand storytelling for our largest and highest-value mass market product—managing a global pipeline of professional-level assets and shaping the way we share stories to attract and engage with prospects through the funnel, as well as connecting with sponsors with the children and communities they support.

You’ll work with a 50+ network of field offices, 30+ fundraising markets, creative vendors, and cross-functional teams to source and capture effective content that’s multi-strategy or fit for purpose, and ensure our stories are accurate, diverse, emotionally resonant, and aligned with both strategic priorities and supporter expectations.

  • Content Pipeline Management
Oversee the global content delivery pipeline, ensuring the production and distribution of 30,000+ high-quality assets annually (photos, videos, stories) to Support Offices for use in fundraising, marketing, storytelling, and campaigns.
  • Field Storytelling Coordination
Plan and manage global content-gathering trips, ensuring geographic diversity, alignment with global strategic initiatives, and efficient resource use.
  • Vendor & Creative Management
Source, brief, and manage a global roster of creative professionals, including photographers, videographers, illustrators, copywriters, researchers, and editors, to deliver content to professional standards and tight timelines.
  • Content Creation & Editorial Oversight
Write, edit, and polish sponsor-facing content and stories. Draft creative briefs, manage end-to-end creative projects, and ensure consistent tone, voice, and impact across channels.
  • Strategy & Message Development
Manage the overarching content strategy for Child Sponsorship across all platforms—ensuring alignment with global messaging, campaigns, and storytelling priorities. Contribute to and/or lead the development of child sponsorship content strategies, key messaging frameworks, and content pillars that support brand, product, and supporter engagement goals.
  • Internal Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with internal communications, product teams, and sponsorship stakeholders to ensure integrated messaging and coordinated storytelling efforts across departments.
  • Support for Fundraising Offices
Serve as a strategic partner to Support Offices, understanding their content needs, providing guidance, and helping them use global content effectively to engage sponsors.
  • Reporting & Performance Analysis
Track and report on content usage, performance, and gaps. Deliver insights and recommendations to improve storytelling effectiveness and content planning.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, international development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in senior content, storytelling, marketing, or communications roles.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, journalism, international development, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale content production pipelines and strategic campaigns.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio of impactful work.
  • Experience managing creative vendors and coordinating cross-cultural content gathering.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit storytelling, global development issues, and storytelling ethics.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder coordination, and cross-functional collaboration skills across cultures.
  • Strong understanding of branding, supporter engagement, and digital content trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with agility, openness, and attention to detail, and to operate in fluid, unpredictable situations.
  • Availability to travel up to 30% of the time (domestic and international). Additionally, willingness to travel to offbeat locations in sometimes difficult conditions.
  • Comfort working in a virtual, multicultural, and globally dispersed team environment.
  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or donor/customer engagement—ideally within international development, nonprofit, or cause-based environments.
  • Creative, innovative thinker with some analytical and process-orientated skills.
  • Well organised and able to easily coordinate activities or manage multiple deadlines at once.
  • Strategic thinker and content development capabilities are a benefit.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, with a keen understanding of narrative, tone, and audience needs.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement across cultures, time zones, and organisational levels.
  • Highly proficient in Canva, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of professional creative editing tools preferred.

Be part of a global movement that brings hope, dignity, and transformation to children and communities around the world. As a key storyteller and strategist, your work will help deepen prospect conversion and sponsor engagement, and bring the impact of World Vision’s work to life—every photo, every video, every story, every child.
