Surface Mount Assembly Technician/Operator Location: Rochester The role is to assist in the manufacture of a wide range of electronic assemblies within the production department to ensure goods are produced in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines. The Job Assembly of small volume surface mount PCBs by hand including operation of our reflow oven Manufacture of cable assemblies Full operation of our pick and place machine including loading components Programming of the pick and place for new boards using a PC Helping with mechanical assembly of our products when required Liaising with the engineering team regarding production problems Ensuring the work environment is kept tidy and safeThe person Ability to hand solder. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 (best practice) and other standards in relation to the job. An IPC qualification is highly desirable, but not essential if you have appropriate experience. Please note that part of the selection process will include a practical test. Experience of the assembly of SMT PCBs to required standards Know about pick and place technology, PCB production and gerber files Understand manufacturing documents and follow specific instructions Experience of a professional manufacturing environment Seeking an educated individual comfortable with PC use and effective in staff communication. Ideal candidate should bring existing knowledge and skills to enhance our products.Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility to adjust the start and finish times each day within the current general opening hours of the business. These are currently 08.00 to 17.30. Please note this position is only suitable for candidates who are already able to live and work in the UK without restriction.
