Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Freight Forwarder & Customs Coordinator to join our dynamic logistics team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-3 years\’ experience in freight forwarding and customs clearance who is looking to take ownership of a key account.
In this role, you will manage the full process from international freight through to UK haulage and final delivery, ensuring all shipments are handled efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with UK customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end freight forwarding process, including import/export shipments.
- Oversee customs clearance documentation and ensure HMRC compliance.
- Liaise with carriers, shipping lines, and haulage partners to arrange UK transport and final delivery.
- Track and monitor shipments, proactively managing any delays or issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing updates and exceptional service.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports for shipments and customs entries.
Requirements
- 2-3 years\’ experience in freight forwarding and customs clearance (essential).
- Strong understanding of UK customs regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of multi-modal freight and UK haulage.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple shipments/accounts simultaneously.
- Proficiency in freight management or customs systems (e.g. Descartes, CNS, CHIEF/CDS) is advantageous.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of £27,000 – £39,000 depending on experience.
